Journal Kit

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

I am reading the Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker by Wendy Smedley and Aby Garvey. In the book they show a Journal Kit and at the back they suggest contents for one. Today I assembled mine.

This is what I put inside:

  • Creative Memories Storylines (journal template)
  • Creative Memories Titletopia (to align/space titles, especially stickers and rubons)
  • Creative Memories Journaltopia (to keep your journalling straight if you chose not to draw guidelines with a pencil)
  • Sheet of word art stickers
  • Sheet of word art rubons
  • Creating Keepsakes Journalers Sidekick Software
  • Creating Keepsakes Journaler's Handbook
  • Creating Keepsakes Love Your Handwriting
  • Diecuts with a View Vellum Quotes
  • Metal rim tags
  • Jewelry tags
  • Coluzzle Library Card stamp
  • Cat's Life Press Photo Notes stamp
  • Cat's Life Press Here's the Story stamp
  • Cat's Life Press Notes From Today stamp
  • Cat's Life Press Date stamp
  • Dollar store date stamp
  • Creative Memories stapler/staple remover
  • Blank luggage style tags in various colors
  • Daisy Hill Dimensional Word Stickers
  • Creative Memories Journal Mate (large)
  • Zig Millenium Pens
  • Micron Pens
  • Zig Vellum Writer
  • Marvy Uchida Calligraphy Pens (black, brown, grey)
  • Sakura Gelly Roll (white, aqua, black)
  • Stampin' Up! White Gel pen
  • Sharpies (aqua, orange) - these were in a scraptivity kit so I'm hoping they are scrapbook safe
  • Creative Memories multipurpose tool
  • Propelling pencel
  • Eraser
  • Creative Memories Journal Mate (small)
  • Creative Memories Fine Tip pens (red, blue, green, yellow)
  • Creative Memories Round Tip pens (red, blue, green, yellow)
So now that everything is in it's place, I can actually remember (and hopefully use) what I've got and improve the journalling in my scrapbooks.

Forgot to mention I am keeping this on my scrapbook desk (in the closet) in the hope that while scrapbooking I may actually reach over and journal (gasp).

Edited: I've just found out that both the CM Titletopia and CM Journaltopia are being discontinued. I strongly suggest getting these great tools before they're gone! To recap, the Journaltopia allows you to write journaling in straight lines without having to draw and erase pencil lines (much quicker). The Titletopia allows you to even space and align sticker alphabets for perfect titles.
